Our History
Cranecorp Australia’s journey began in 1994 with one crane, one vision, and a determination to make a difference. Founded in Kalgoorlie by Rick Musarra, a second-generation crane operator, the business was built on strong family values and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality lifting solutions.
Originally established as Goldfields Crane Hire, the company quickly earned a reputation for safety, service excellence, and dependability. As demand grew, so did our operations, expanding across Western Australia and rebranding as Cranecorp Australia to reflect our broader capabilities and statewide presence.
In 2020, a significant milestone was reached when Rick sold a majority stake in the business to Viburnum Funds, a Perth-based investment firm with nearly two decades of experience in growing private industrial businesses in the mining sector. With Viburnum’s strategic support, Cranecorp Australia continues to evolve, focused on sustainable growth, innovation, and upholding the high standards that have guided us from the very beginning.
